Ending College Life with a Mixture of Smiles and Tears!
April 7, 2008 12:31 am CollegeI feel as if it was just last year when I went along with my Grandpa, hunting for a Mechanical Engineering seat in some “Good Engineering College” and finally settled with the one situated less than a kilometer from home – MNM Jain Engineering College. But now, in exactly one month from now, College Life would have ended once and for all (Classroom life will end this week itself). Somehow, I have waded my way through to the final semester, cleared the papers so far, came across through a huge number of hurdles, jumping most of them and stumbling upon a few.
The best part of college life probably is the Bonding with Friends out there! The ones that I laughed with, partied with, chatted with, struggled with, enjoyed with, adventured with etc etc… Looking back at the life I had at college, I just dunno whether to feel happy about it or to shed a few silent tears. I just thought I’d better list down the positives and negatives that I feel about leaving college.
Things that I feel Sad About:
Ø No more Classroom Atmosphere Forever!!!
:(
Ø No more College Kalaais. (Teasers)
Ø No more Cement Bench Conferences.
Ø No more Post – Lunch Chats with Friends from All Departments.
:(
Ø No more Gazing at My Essh Baby!!!
:(
Ø No more Random Bird Watching.
:(
Ø No more Friendly Fights.
Ø No more Open Book Tests.
Ø No more 11th Hour Exam Preparations.
Ø No more Carrom and Pen Fight Championships…
:(
Ø No more Maan Karate (Running & Catching between Staff and Student).
Things that I feel Happy About:
Ø No more having to eat compulsory Tasteless Lunch at college.
Ø No more restrictions on usage of Mobile Phones.
Ø No more restrictions on what I have to Wear.
Ø No more restrictions on my Hairstyles.
Ø No more Assignments to Boost Internal Marks.
(I can feel I have left out a lot in the above list, I shall update whenever I remember things, and if you feel I have left something that I should have added to the above, do let me know in the comments section!)
Clearly, the sad feelings overweigh my happy feelings. These days are never gonna come back and the nostalgia of going through the final few days in my Educational Career has begun to sink in! I can see the door open wide, leading to a Highly Challenging and Competitive World just a few steps ahead of me! Now, its time for me to start my Professional Career with all that I have learnt over the past 21 years and Stand on my Own Legs!
All the best to everyone reading this post, for a bright future!

Past seventeen years, not twenty one years. You added four years of engineering by mistake.
I am glad to have left and I will never ever miss college or the so called ‘college life’.

Haha. Well, I did learn a few things over the past four years, so I din’t add that by mistake buddy…

Same feelings here also !
the best part about the college is the bonding with my friends.
the worst is that my college also does not permit the cellphones so we have to conceal them and once i bought a new cellphone and i was caught napping with it.

@Sathya - Haha! Ya, I would miss wearing those shirts too… One of them (that Blue one) got badly torn when I fell the other day, so thats off to the bin already!
@Srinath - Unakkum indha kaalam varum thambi…
@Abhi - Ya, it happens…

ya, we have discussed this post everywhere. I miss my college, for my friends. Costly miss.
Sathyanarain :

One of a kind?
Perhaps not!
Ramarajan wears them. So does actor(read comedian) Vijay and a bunch of other Telugu actors.
Does that make it one of a kind?
Praveen :
Date: April 7, 2008 @ 5:58 pm
Yes, I have a taste of my own generated by me, within me. If somebody else had worn similar to mine, they have just copied from me! Nothing short of that!

I wont miss college life, actually I am glad its going to get over. I am sure of it. That doesn’t mean I’m going to like corporate life either.
Praveen :
Date: April 7, 2008 @ 8:20 pm
@Raja - Dai, I have listed a whole lot of points and how come you notice only Essh? Neelaam yaaru pa? Soon after college, you will get married to your GF and so can watch her forever. Naangallam appidiya?
@Sundar - If you feel you aren’t going to like the corporate life, then why opt for it? You should have applied for universities abroad na, since you scored 1430 at GRE!!!
sundar :
Date: April 7, 2008 @ 8:22 pm
I dont want to study either.
Praveen :
Date: April 7, 2008 @ 8:23 pm
@Sundar - Haha! then what do you exactly wanna do?
sundar :
Date: April 7, 2008 @ 8:26 pm
Damned if I knew.

Dai, WHO IS THIS “ESSH BABY” da? Someone from our college?
I don’t know you much, just dropped in from your Orkut profile, but I kinda din’t expect you to be actually committed! My best wishes to you!
And Don’t Cry 4 leaving our dumb college man! Am quite sure that you will have a lovely time at EDS. Cheers!
Praveen :
Date: April 8, 2008 @ 7:35 am
Hello Fan of Fidel Castro! Ya, I may consider telling you who Essh is, but first temme who you are! And thx for the wishes!
Sathyanarain :
Date: April 8, 2008 @ 3:33 pm
@ Fidel Castro Fan,
First of all PSP is not committed.
And Essh baby… ha ha ha.
Hey PSP, he believes you and Esha Vig are seeing each other!
ha ha ha ha ha ha!
srinath :
Date: April 8, 2008 @ 4:15 pm
@ sthya
hahaha
PSP…. wat is happening???????
srinath :
Date: April 8, 2008 @ 4:16 pm
@ fidel castro fan
whos this?
Praveen :
Date: April 8, 2008 @ 7:18 pm
@Fidel Castro Fan - Ya, Sathya is right! I ain’t committed to her yet!
Since you say that you don’t know Essh and that you know me only a little, that must probably either mean that you are from Final year EEE or some junior, right?
@Sathya - Why are you laughing da? Ain’t she a baby for me?
@Srinath - Whats happening ah? Its plain clear da. Mr Fan seems to have assumed that Essh and I are, well, you-know-what…
